Energy
With a view to reducing the consumption of energy in the hotels and to promote the use of renewable energy, AHRIM will implement a set of projects, following a Workshop organised in July 2008:
- The use of solar water heater as a supplier of preheated water to existing boilers;
- The variation of speed on fans and pumps as an energy saver;
- The Use of vegetable oil as a substitute to diesel in hotel vehicles;
- Use of efficient pump, lead lights and neon lights and other energy efficient devices;
- Use of the Ozone Wash Saving System; and
- The production of compost from green waste.
Water Management
With a view of having an efficient water distribution system for its members in the region of Bel Ombre and Le Morne, AHRIM is envisaging to undertake a feasibility study on the implementation of a regional desalination plant in one of the two regions. The assistance of the IOC has been sought for the funding of the study. |
