R. Beebeejaun,G.C.S.K. , Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Renewable Energy and Public
Utilities was in mission in Rodrigues from
10 to 12 January 2010. He inaugurated the
Grenade Wind Farm and the Winston Churchill
Bridge.
Grenade Wind Farm
The Grenade Windfarm has been
constructed by the Central Electricity Board
(CEB) in line with Government policy to resort
to renewable energy. The project is the first
of many to follow in Republic of Mauritius.
The inauguration was held on 11 January 2010
Bridge in Port Mathurin
The Winston Churchill Bridge,
constructed in 1947, has been reconstructed
in 2009 under the Additional Stimulus Package.
The inauguration was held on 12 January 2010
in presence of Mr Johnson Roussety, G.O.S.K.,
Chief Commissioner, Mr. Franceau Aubret Grandcourt,
Commissioner for Public Infrastructure, Environment,
Housing, Transport and Marine Parks and other
Commissioners of the Rodrigues Regional Assembly.
