Computer Security Day is an annual event that is observed worldwide on the 30th November. It is designed to raise awareness and to promote best practices in Information Security. The event provides insight into the privacy and security issues surrounding electronically stored sensitive information and offers ways to keep your computer and data safe.

The main objective of this event is to bring together international and local IT and security professionals to share their experiences, acquire knowledge and gain an understanding to safeguard their organization’s most valuable asset-information. To observe the forthcoming Computer Security Day-CERT-MU, a division of the National Computer Board, is organising an Information Security week.

The event will help business executives, senior management and Information Security Professionals keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in the following areas of Information Security:

  • Understand current and emerging information security threats that can impact their business
  • Develop ways to identify if your organization is adequately prepared to deal with disaster
  • Manage the challenge of regulatory compliance, policies and procedures
  • Protect critical infrastructure through effective intrusion prevention strategies
  • Keep abreast on latest information security products and technologies

The format of the event is as follows:

  • A full day conference with the participation of high profile resource persons and interactive panel discussion on specific tracks - 30th November 2010.
  • An exhibition to demonstrate computer security based products- 30th November 2010.

The following training Programmes will be conducted:

  • A training programme on the Secure Software Development Practices from 1-3 December 2010 (3 days), conducted by STQC, India.
  • A training programme on Certified ISMS Implementers (CISP) from 6-10 December 2010 ( 5 days), conducted by STQC, India
  • A training programme on ISO 27001 lead Auditor from 13-17 December 2010 ( 5 days), conducted  by STQC, India
